    Kristin Andrs has been practicing nursing for over 25 years and has been a Nurse Practitioner since graduating Virginia Commonwealth University’s Master’s program in 2000. She is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a background in surgery, emergency medicine, cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and endocrine diseases. After graduating from the University of Arizona’s Integrative Medicine Fellowship Program in 2012, she completed a Wellness coaching program through Wellcoaches and a three-year medical herbalism program through Sacred Plant Traditions in Charlottesville, VA. Sacred Plant Traditions is one of the only known herbalism schools in the U.S. that offers clinical training with patients on-site. In 2016, she completed David Winston’s 2-year herbalism program through his Center for Herbal Studies. She earned her certificate in Environmental Medicine in December of 2017.
    Memberships held by Ms. Andrs include the American Herbalist Guild, the American Botanical Council, the Virginia Council of Nurse PractitionersInternational Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS)and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. She continuously studies the latest in herbal research, Environmental and Functional Medicine, as well as Clinical Nutrition. She also keeps up with the most recent scientific literature for treatments and remedies that can improve healing. Ms. Andrs has studied at The Culinary Institute of America and loves experimenting in the kitchen with fresh plant ingredients for healthy, delicious meals.
    The Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners presented Ms. Andrs with the 2014 Distinguished Nurse Practitioner award on March 8, 2014. This award honors a member of the council who has exemplified or made contributions to the role of Nurse Practitioner. The recipient demonstrated excellence and initiative in one or more of the following categories: clinical practice, research, leadership, and contributions to the VCNP at both local and state level
