Dr. Charles Schwengel, DO

Dr. Charles Schwengel (“Dr. Charlie”) brings over a quarter of a century of knowledge, experience, skills and resources to the practice of nutritional medicine. He began to pursue a life-long interest in natural healing when he attended osteopathic medical school in 1990. He graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (Pomona, CA) in 1994 as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or DO and completed an internship in Phoenix in 1995. He realized a life-long dream of practicing general medicine & osteopathy in Mesa, AZ. Treating patients for cancer was the last thing on his mind.

MD(H) – Doctor of Medicine, HomeopathicPursuing his primary interest in methods of natural healing Dr. Charlie learned about the science of homeopathic medicine. Following what appeared to be a miraculous recovery from his step-father’s heart condition (see Dad’s Heart Story) Dr. Charlie become convinced about the value of homeopathic medicine and obtained a second medical license in Arizona called Doctor of Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine, or MD(H). This license allows conventional doctors to include many forms of more holistic therapies, often called Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in their practices.

Dr. Charlie remains very active in the homeopathic community and has served four terms by gubernatorial appointment on the Arizona Board of Homeopathic and Integrated Medical Examiners.
